Sunny Sunday

Too good a day to miss getting out in the garden. Paige and Lily consented to appear together in a couple of pictures! The daffodils are blooming and the "chrystal" tree in the living room window was ablaze with light when I opened the curtains this morning. The photo doesn't even begin to show the huge amount of rainbows that were scattered round the room! The felt and slow cloth details just fitted in the montage .

More on Slow Cloth

I am reminded today that the definative and original description of Slow Cloth is to be found on
http://lainie.typepad.com
It was reading the words on her blog that led me to join the group Slowcloth on Facebook, I re-read that description today and if anyone wants a complete answer, that is where to find it and a great blog to browse to boot. Thank you Lainie for that timely reminder.

Slow cloth

Several people, including Jenster (thanks for your comment!) have asked me to explain the term 'slow cloth' I can only say what I think it means, it's all in the name of course but to me it's the sheer pleasure of working on a piece, maybe over several months or years, that gives me a real sense of joy in the 'doing' rather than the need to complete for a deadline etc., I first came across the term on Jude hill's blog www.spiritcloth.typepad.com and followed lots of links which in turn were expanding the idea and joined Slowcloth on facebook. One of the blogs I return to again and again for the pleasure of her work and the humour of her comments belongs to Morna Crites-Moore and the link is www.mornacrites-moore.blogspot.com

It's a glorious day and spring seems to have sprung, I have actually done an hours gardening without the need to wrap up and am feeling thoroughly virtuous. Hope the day is good for you.

Making a start

Starting to embellish the piece of slow cloth. I am not at all sure that it wouldn't look better as it was, but that is always the way I feel when I start to alter a surface! I am also about to start some serious felting. I have all the stuff ready, just need a few clear hours to play. Should be good this weekend.
